Öhlins DH38 m.1 – The Ultimate Downhill Racing Fork

The DH38 m.1 represents the pinnacle of Öhlins’ downhill suspension technology. Built on the award-winning DH38 platform and enhanced with a suite of key upgrades, this is the most refined and capable downhill fork the brand has ever produced. Whether you’re racing on a pedal-powered rig or sending it on an e-MTB, the DH38 m.1 delivers unmatched performance, control, and customization for the most demanding riders.

Next-Level Performance for Gravity Riders
Engineered for the roughest terrain and biggest hits, the DH38 m.1 provides exceptional small bump sensitivity, incredible support through high-speed compressions, and impressive bottom-out control. New low-friction seals, advanced lubricants, and a refined internal design all contribute to an ultra-smooth feel and greater traction—letting riders attack the course with more confidence and less fatigue.

TTX Damping – Proven at the Podium
At the heart of the DH38 m.1 is Öhlins’ race-winning TTX twin-tube damping system, offering unrivalled consistency and adjustability across all conditions. This latest iteration introduces improvements that make the fork even more plush, more controlled, and easier to fine-tune—ensuring optimal performance for both racing and park days.

Key New Features

- Advanced Lubrication System: Newly developed lubricants and greases reduce breakaway force, giving the fork a smoother, more responsive feel.

- Low-Friction Seal Head: Works in combination with increased oil volume to enhance small bump sensitivity and reduce wear.

- Adjustable Negative Chamber: Tuneable for added comfort or sharper feedback depending on rider preference.

- Pressurized Piston Damper: Borrowed from the RXF36 m.2, this design ensures more consistent damping under repeated high loads.

- Enhanced Needle Design: Offers greater range and precision in both low-speed compression and rebound adjustments.

Built for Customization and Serviceability
The DH38 m.1 has been engineered not only for performance but also for practicality. It shares more service parts and kits with the RXF36 m.2, making maintenance simpler and more accessible. A redesigned ramp-up tube and new one-way valve minimize service time and maximize durability.

Additional Enhancements Include:

- 15 clicks of low-speed compression and rebound damping

- 3 clicks of high-speed compression damping

- Redesigned adjusters for more positive, tactile clicks

Cassette tool interfaces on both damper and air spring for hassle-free servicing

Twin-piston, three-chamber air spring system with easy tuning of main and ramp-up chambers

Race-Proven Tuning Bank
As with all Öhlins TTX-equipped suspension, the DH38 m.1 gives riders access to a broad tuning library through Öhlins service centers—allowing for expert-level personalization of damping curves and setup.

3 way adjustable damper

Ohlins race-winning TTX18 damping technology from the DH38 Race Fork has been adapted to deliver its renowned top-tier traction and control on the most demanding trails. The RXF's adjustment range is specifically designed for tough trails and provides 16 clicks of low-speed compression, 3 clicks of high-speed compression, and 16 clicks of rebound adjustment.

Adjustable ramp chamber

The retuned, twin piston, three chamber air-spring system allows you to completely dial-in the level of progression—from the initial movement, right through to the bottom out. The air spring is cartridge-based, allowing for easy swaps between coil and air if desired.

Improved chassis technology

With the new chassis, the fork delivers ultra-sensitive tracking over small bumps while maintaining Öhlins' signature precise steering and predictable handling—no matter how long or hard it's pushed. The RXF features increased internal bushing overlap and an optimised configuration for 140-160mm travel on 29” wheels (up to 170mm for 27.5”), along with crown offsets of 38, 44, and 51mm. With its updated settings and reduced chassis friction, the fork offers improved sensitivity for greater traction and comfort to conquer any trail.
