The Trickstuff Maxima is built around high braking leverage for steep, demanding descents. A progressive lever mechanism works with a 9mm pump piston and four 16/17mm caliper pistons, producing substantial braking force without making every small lever movement an abrupt input.
A firm bite point helps make that power usable. The CNC-machined 7075 aluminium caliper uses steel yoke bolts for stiffness, while the bearing-supported lever and low-friction pump piston keep the response controlled. Hollow stainless steel caliper pistons limit heat transfer from the pads towards the fluid.
Choose the hose for the installation
Goodridge steel-braided options provide a stiff hose construction. The Kevlar option offers a slimmer route through narrow frame passages. These are different supplied configurations: select the hose type alongside the colour and lever arrangement required. Goodridge swivel-fitting features apply to Goodridge-equipped versions.
- Four-piston aluminium caliper with 16/17mm stainless steel pistons
- Goodridge black, carbon-effect or raw hose, or Kevlar black, according to the selected variant
- Black body / black cap or silver body / orange cap, as listed
- Bionol brake fluid; compatible pad shape 730
- Post Mount calipers; maximum rotor thickness 2.30mm
Match the front-brake lever arrangement, rotor and mounting hardware to the bike before installation.

Leverage for demanding descents
The Maxima's progressive geometry increases leverage through the stroke, supporting strong braking while retaining control over the initial input.
A firm foundation for braking
The 7075 aluminium caliper and steel yoke bolts resist flex, helping convert hydraulic pressure into a firm, readable bite point.
Limit heat transfer from the pads
The hollow stainless steel pistons reduce contact with the pads, helping limit the heat conducted towards the brake fluid.
