Fox Podium Technical Tear Down

Fox Podium Technical Tear Down

Mat Clark

Beautiful, inside and out but why the beef?!

The launch of the Fox Podium fork saw some ups and downs (and some upside downs!) with speculation that pro riders didn't want to ride it and then the price was released, which always gets the forums going and then we saw a raft of video's showing how much stiction the forks have further helping to swell the wave of bad press that was now engulfing the forks fledgling reputation.

Most of this however was nonsense.

Pro riders chose not to switch because they are Pros and you dont make such a drastic change to your setup mid season.

The price is high but the fork is exquisite in its performance, quality and technological offering. Ask yourself how much you spent on your frame? Why is spending the same on a fork an issue if you want the best performance?! You dont have to buy it. There are other forks on the market.

Aaaand the stiction warriors. Funny how fox can invest millions in a new product and test for years with pro riders, engineers and test riders only to be told by a keyboard warrior wth questionable credentials and riding skill, that when you tighten the axle up the wrong way the fork has stiction. Don't tighten the axle up the wrong way then!

And thats where we come in. We have ridden this fork, we have raced this fork, we have serviced this fork and we wanted to make a video that called out the nonsense, put to bed the rumours and hopefully give you some insight into what is actually going on inside these forks, why they are expensive and why they are high fidelity and why it matters!

Check out the video for the scoop!
