ORBEA WILD LT TECH DEEP DIVE
"We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." — Dolly Parton
The mountain bike industry has spent the past year adjusting its sails to the arrival of DJI's Avinox drive system. Orbea's latest response is the new Wild LT, a long-travel e-bike that combines enduro-ready geometry with one of the most powerful motor systems currently available. It's also a reminder that while most of us are stuck working 9 to 5, modern e-bikes are making it easier than ever to squeeze a lot more riding into the hours either side.
We asked Dolly Parton what she thought of the new Wild LT and this is what she said....

Long travel - DJI powered
The full-power e-bike market has evolved rapidly over the last few years, but few developments have shaken up the industry quite like DJI's arrival into mountain biking. Known globally for its dominance in drone technology, DJI entered the e-bike world with the Avinox drive system and immediately raised the bar for power, integration and user experience. Now Orbea has paired DJI's latest Avinox M2S motor with an all-new long-travel platform designed for riders who want maximum capability on the steepest and roughest trails. The result is the new Wild LT, a bike that takes everything riders appreciated about the existing Wild and pushes it firmly into enduro race and bike park territory. With 170mm of front travel, 165mm of rear travel, adjustable geometry, carbon and alloy frame options, and both full 29er and mullet configurations available throughout the range, the Wild LT is designed to appeal to a huge spectrum of aggressive riders.
World cup DH pedigree
While the standard Wild already established itself as one of the most capable full-power e-bikes on the market, the Wild LT draws on world cup winning geometry from the Orbea Rallon and adds DJI power to the mix for a truly unbeatable package.
Across the range, riders can choose between a full 29-inch wheel setup or a mullet configuration with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. The full 29er models prioritise stability, rollover speed and outright pace, while the mullet versions add a more playful and manoeuvrable character that many aggressive riders will appreciate on tighter and steeper terrain.
Wild LT
HUGE AVINOX POWER
The Avinox M2S motor delivers up to 130Nm of torque in its standard modes, with Boost mode increasing output to a staggering 150Nm when maximum assistance is required. Peak power reaches 1500 watts, placing it among the most powerful production e-bike systems currently available.
Despite those impressive numbers, the motor remains compact and lightweight, helping Orbea maintain the balanced handling characteristics that have become synonymous with the Wild platform.
WILD LT
BIG BATTERY OPTIONS
Battery options include a standard 800Wh unit across the majority of the range, with an optional 600Wh battery available (only on carbon bikes) for riders prioritising lower overall weight.
Charging is handled by DJI's own system, with the option of a rapid 12A charger that dramatically reduces charging times compared to traditional e-bike systems.
WILD LT
MASSIVE INTERGRATION
The integration extends beyond the motor and battery. Every Wild LT features DJI's display ecosystem, providing clear ride data, intuitive controls and extensive customisation options.
The system controller and handlebar-mounted controls create a clean cockpit while allowing riders to quickly access assistance modes and ride information without distraction.
Adjustable Geometry For Different Riding Styles
Using Orbea's geometry adjustment system, riders can choose between High and Low settings depending on their preferred riding style and terrain.
In the High setting, the bike features a 63.9-degree head angle, 78-degree seat angle and a slightly higher bottom bracket. This position offers a little more ground clearance, sharper handling and a more responsive feel during technical climbing.
Switching to the Low position slackens the head angle to 63.3 degrees, lowers the bottom bracket by 8mm and slightly reduces reach figures. The result is a more planted and stable bike that feels incredibly confident at speed and on steep descents.
Reach numbers range from 436mm on a size Small through to 511mm on an XL in the High setting, ensuring modern sizing that should suit a broad range of riders. Chainstay length remains consistent at 448mm across all frame sizes, helping preserve predictable handling characteristics throughout the range.
WILD LT
Carbon M-Series
One of the most impressive aspects of the Wild LT launch is the breadth of the range.
Orbea has ensured there is a Wild LT available for riders across a wide variety of budgets without compromising the core riding experience.
The premium M-Series models utilise Orbea's OMR carbon frame construction and represent the lightest and most performance-focused versions of the platform. At the top of the range sits the Wild LT M-LTD RS, featuring Fox Factory suspension, SRAM XX Eagle AXS transmission, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes, carbon e*thirteen cranks and OQUO's flagship wheelset package.
The M-Team RS follows closely behind with SRAM GX Eagle AXS, Fox Factory suspension and OQUO carbon wheels, delivering much of the flagship performance at a slightly more accessible price point.
Further down the carbon range, the M10 combines Fox Factory suspension with Shimano's latest XT drivetrain and brakes, while the M20 delivers a highly capable specification built around RockShox ZEB suspension and Shimano Deore components.
WILD LT
Alloy H-Series
For riders seeking maximum value, Orbea's Hydro aluminium frame models offer the same geometry, suspension platform and core design features as their carbon counterparts.
The H-Team sits at the top of the alloy range with Fox Factory suspension and Shimano XT components, while the H10 and H20 provide increasingly accessible entry points into the Wild LT platform without sacrificing the proven chassis design.
WILD LT
Wheel Size Options
One of our favourite options on the new Orbea Wild LT is the choice of 27.5 or 29 rear wheels.
Both carbon and alloy bikes are available in full 29-inch and mullet configurations, allowing riders to choose the wheel setup that best suits their riding style regardless of budget.
Want a bike with ultimate roll over and speed? go with 29!
Want a corner mosnter thats loves the bike park? go with 27.5!
AVINOX FAST CHARGE
The Avinox 508W Fast Charger is a high-performance charging solution designed to minimise downtime and keep riders on the trail for longer. With a maximum output of 508 watts and a charging current of up to 12 amps, the charger is capable of rapidly replenishing Avinox batteries. An 800Wh battery can be charged from empty to approximately 75% capacity in around 90 minutes, with a full charge taking under two hours under optimal conditions. This makes it particularly useful for riders who need a quick turnaround between rides or want to top up their battery during a break.
Best E-Bike Ever?
The addition of DJI's Avinox M2S motor to the Wild brings industry-leading power, impressive battery technology and a level of integration that few competitors can currently match. Combined with a comprehensive range spanning premium carbon builds through to value-focused alloy models, the Wild LT looks set to become one of the most compelling long-travel e-bikes of the year.
For riders searching for a full-power e-bike capable of tackling the roughest trails, biggest descents and longest days in the mountains, the new Wild LT is shaping up to be a very serious contender.
