Burgtec's Thick Thin chainring gives a SRAM 8-bolt crank a narrow-wide tooth profile and 3 mm offset. It's a useful choice when you want chain retention, the right gearing and a colour that works with the rest of the build.
Alternating tooth widths help the chain sit securely, while the relieved tooth shape is designed to shed dirt and debris. Mud happens; the shape gives it less reason to stay packed around the teeth.
