The EX 511 is a strong starting point for an enduro wheel that will see roots, rocks and plenty of hard miles. Its 30mm internal width supports a substantial mountain-bike tyre, and the welded aluminium hoop is built for demanding riding.

DT Swiss PHR washers distribute load around the spoke holes. Combined with the supplied Squorx Pro Head nipples, they help the builder put tension into the wheel without concentrating it at one small contact point.

Tyre support for rough enduro trails

Spread the load at the spoke holes

PHR washers increase the area over which each nipple loads the rim. Their curved shape works with the supplied Squorx Pro Head nipples to align the nipple with the spoke, reducing local stress at this important part of the wheel.
