The FR 571 is the aluminium rim for a gravity wheel that will be used hard. A 30mm internal width supports the tyre, while its wider rim edges are shaped to spread an impact and reduce the chance of a pinch flat.
A welded hoop, PHR washers and brass Flat Hex nipples make this a considered choice for repeated downhill runs. The nipple head also helps protect the rim tape if a spoke breaks, an especially useful detail when finishing a run matters.
A tyre hitting a sharp edge can be pinched against the rim. The FR 571 gives that contact point more width, spreading the load to help resist pinch damage during hard impacts.

The included brass Flat Hex nipples have a low-profile head designed to reduce damage to the rim tape if a spoke breaks. PHR washers support the connection and spread the spoke load at the rim.
