The RR 421 brings an asymmetric spoke bed to a low-profile disc-brake road rim. It is a good choice when the aim is a responsive handbuilt wheel with useful support for wider road tyres, rather than the depth and weight of a more substantial touring rim.
Its 20mm internal width and welded alloy construction work with tubes or a compatible tubeless setup. The offset spoke bed is there to improve spoke geometry, while the included PHR washers and Squorx nipples help the spoke seats align. Correct orientation is part of the build and must be set for the hub and wheel position.

Supplied as a rim, not a complete wheel. Spokes and hub are chosen separately for the build.
The offset spoke bed gives the wheelbuilder a way to improve spoke angles and tension balance. The benefit comes from matching its orientation to the particular front or rear hub, not simply treating it as a symmetrical rim.
