For a handbuilt wheel that will spend as much time on rough lanes as it does on smooth tarmac, the RR 481 is a useful alloy starting point. A 22mm internal width and welded construction give it the scope for all-road riding, commuting and longer mixed-surface days.
The 25mm section is deliberately practical rather than extreme. DT Swiss includes its PHR washers and Squorx nipples, which form the spoke-seat system the rim is designed to use. These listed versions are 700c and disc-specific, with a choice of drilling to suit the build.
