A welded aluminium trail wheel with a properly considered build. The current XM 1700 combines a 30mm internal-width asymmetric rim with Competition Race straight-pull spokes.
The offset rim helps balance spoke tension, while the double-butted spokes keep the wheel light enough for long trail days. It is a modern, serviceable system for a bike that has to climb as well as descend.

The asymmetric aluminium rim combines a 30mm internal width with an offset spoke bed. It supports the tyre while helping balance spoke tension between the two sides of the wheel.
A build chosen for the front wheel
Competition Race straight-pull spokes use a reduced centre section to keep weight down and give the wheel a more forgiving build. They connect the rim to a serviceable 350 front hub.
