A proper little bike for those first pushes, glides and independent adventures. The Early Rider Belter 12 is a 12-inch balance bike with a brushed aluminium frame and fork, air-filled tyres and sealed cartridge bearings. There are no pedals to learn around, so the rider can concentrate on balancing, steering and finding their feet.

A rear brake is pictured, but inclusion with this build needs confirmation. Please check with us before ordering if a hand-operated brake is essential.

Small bike, thoughtful details

The low frame makes getting on and off less of a hurdle, while the aluminium construction keeps the bike manageable. Vee Speedster 2.0-inch tyres put a useful cushion of air between the rider and the ground, rather than relying on a solid tyre.

Sealed cartridge bearings in the hubs help the wheels roll freely and keep dirt away from the bearings. It's the sort of detail that matters on a bike likely to spend plenty of time outside, then be handed down for another child to enjoy.

The Belter is the everyday option in Early Rider's balance-bike range, ideal for learning on paths and around the park. If dirt is going to feature more heavily, have a look at the Seeker 12 and its chunkier tyres.

Getting the fit right comes first. Bring the rider in or speak to us before choosing a size; wheel size and age alone don't tell the whole story.

  • Manufacturer-quoted weight: 3.4kg.

Standover is a frame measurement, not a minimum inside-leg recommendation. A fit check is still the best way to choose the right size.
