The Early Rider Charger 16 brings an air suspension fork to a small mountain bike. It's for young riders who are spending more time on trails and would benefit from some help smoothing the front wheel's path, while keeping the simplicity of a single-speed drivetrain.

Suspension with a purpose

The RST F1RST fork provides 60mm of air-sprung travel. It can be set up for the rider, helping the front wheel deal with uneven ground rather than adding a fixed spring that may not suit their weight.

The brushed aluminium frame carries short 90mm cranks, smaller-diameter grips and CRUX hydraulic brakes with short-reach levers. Kenda Booster 2.2-inch tyres and sealed-bearing wheels complete a build that takes the contact points seriously.

A small trail bike that stays simple

One gear lets the rider focus on pedalling, braking and choosing a line. The Charger is the suspension-equipped alternative to the rigid Seeker 16, so choose around the terrain and the rider's confidence rather than suspension alone.
