The Early Rider Charger 20 is a 20-inch hardtail for young riders whose weekends are increasingly built around trails. A 100mm RST F1RST air fork, Shimano CUES nine-speed gearing and hydraulic disc brakes give it a purposeful build around a brushed aluminium frame.
Set it up for the rider
The air-sprung fork can be adjusted to suit the rider, helping the front wheel track uneven ground. Schwalbe Rocket Ron 2.25-inch tyres add off-road grip without turning the bike into a scaled-down adult build with adult-sized contact points.
Short 110mm cranks work with the single-chainring CUES drivetrain, giving a choice of gears for climbing and carrying speed. Tektro hydraulic brakes use short-reach levers and 160mm rotors so speed control gets the same attention as pedalling.
Room to develop
The frame is prepared for a compatible dropper-post upgrade, although a dropper isn't part of the supplied build. Start with the right fit and fork setup, then make changes as the rider's needs develop.
For a simpler rigid bike in the same wheel size, look at the Seeker 20. If you're deciding between the two, tell us where the rider likes to ride and we'll help work it out.
Fit and weight
- Standover height: 540mm (manufacturer guidance).
- Manufacturer-quoted weight: 10.29kg, without pedals.
Standover is a frame measurement, not a minimum inside-leg recommendation. A fit check is still the best way to choose the right size.

An air fork for the rider
The 100mm RST F1RST air fork can be adjusted to the rider, helping the front wheel track uneven ground.
Gears for trail gradients
Shimano CUES nine-speed gearing gives a choice of ratios with a single front chainring, keeping gear selection at one control.
Speed control within reach
Tektro hydraulic brakes combine short-reach levers and 160mm rotors for a proportionate trail-bike setup.
Off-road grip
Schwalbe Rocket Ron 2.25-inch tyres give the Charger a trail-focused tread to work alongside its suspension fork.
