Öhlins has turned its attention to the rough end of gravel. The GXF30 M.1 is its first dedicated gravel suspension fork, built for riders who want more grip and less battering when a fast gravel ride turns into rocks, roots and loose corners.
Its 40mm travel is deliberately modest. There's enough movement to take the edge off rough ground, while the 30mm chassis and gravel-specific FTX14 damper keep the focus on steering accuracy, support and pedalling efficiency. For long road links and smoother climbs, a crown-operated lockout lets you firm things up.
This first release comes in Öhlins Racing Yellow through the Fast Forward programme, with an initial production run of 300 forks worldwide. It's a distinctive start to a new chapter for Öhlins, and a serious option for drop-bar riders whose routes regularly stray beyond smooth gravel.
Fit and specification
The GXF30 uses a flat-mount brake interface optimised for a 160mm rotor. Tyre clearance is up to 52mm without a mudguard, or 47mm with one fitted. Check frame and wheel compatibility before ordering: axle size, steerer dimensions, wheel size and offset are awaiting confirmation for this launch model. Bikes shown are for illustration; this listing is for the fork.

Keep your line when the gravel gets rough
Forty millimetres of travel gives the front wheel room to follow broken ground, helping take the sting out of rocks and roots. Öhlins chose that travel to balance comfort and control with the steering and pedalling demands of a gravel bike, whether you're racing a rough course or exploring further from the road.
Grip on the dirt. Lockout for the road.
The compact FTX14 damper was developed specifically for this short-travel fork. Its hydraulic tuning combines sensitivity to small bumps with support through bigger compressions. Multiple compression settings include a manual crown lockout, so you can firm the fork up for smooth climbs and road sections.
A lighter chassis with a precise front end
The GXF30 pairs 30mm stanchions with a chassis developed around gravel riding. Öhlins targeted the stiffness of its 100mm-travel XC platform while reducing weight, aiming for accurate steering without a harsh ride. The complete fork has a claimed weight of 1,249g.
