OQUO’s MP (Mountain Performance) range is designed for riders who want the fastest, most confidence-inspiring wheels they can bolt to a modern XC or trail bike. All three models share wide hookless 29" rims, aggressive inner widths and tubeless-ready construction, but each is tuned for a different balance of weight, stiffness and durability—from World Cup-ready race wheels to hard-charging trail workhorses.
OQUO MP28PRO Wheelset – Alloy Performance You Can Rely On
The MP28PRO brings OQUO’s wheel technology to a more accessible, bombproof aluminium package. With a 28 mm inner width, 29" hookless rims and a wheelset weight from roughly 1930 g, it’s the ideal upgrade for trail and downcountry riders who value reliability and real-world performance over chasing the last few grams.

Asymmetric Carbon Rims
Asymmetric rims allow us to make a more triangular shape with the spokes from each side of the rim, balancing the spoke lengths and tensions. This means each spoke takes an equal amount of strain. In short, asymmetric rims mean fewer spoke sizes, more balanced tensions, and stronger, more reliable wheels.
Hookless Rims
Hookless rims have straight sidewalls, rather than a hooked design. The main advantage is that they are lighter however with our Wide Bead design we have also measured a significant improvement in impact resistance.
Secure Nipple Lock
We apply a custom threadlock liquid to each nipple individually. This liquid creates increased friction between the threaded part of the spoke and the nipple, eliminating the air between them, ensuring that the spokes don't lose tension, whilst allowing adjustments if needed.
Pinch Protection
On tubeless wheels, punctures happen when the tire is pinched between an external object and the edge of the rim. Increasing the width of the rim profile in these points greatly reduces the likelihood of these punctures.
Reinforced Spoke Beds
There is more stress on a rim where the spokes exert tension. Reinforcing these areas increases the reliability of the rim without adding excessive weight.
