Shallow bottom-bracket fittings leave little room for a socket to move. The Pedro's Pro BB Socket Holder uses adjustable spring pressure to help keep a suitable tool engaged while you turn it.
With the Pro BB Socket Cup, the threaded connection and correctly arranged plates and washers can also limit inward movement past the cup flange. Other socket and flat-wrench arrangements are covered in the manual, with spacers needed for some cartridge bottom brackets. The holder is a support tool, not a bottom-bracket socket; choose the correct socket or wrench separately.
