Specialized Levo 4 Pro Carbon Custom EVO DHX2 Edition
The Levo Pro, Rebuilt For Bigger Terrain
The standard Levo 4 Pro is an incredibly capable all-rounder. We wanted to find out what would happen if we pushed it further towards gravity.
So we converted it properly.
The standard linkage has been replaced with the Levo EVO linkage, increasing rear travel to 170mm. The FOX 38 Factory fork has been extended to 180mm, while a FOX DHX2 Factory coil shock and lightweight SLS spring now control the rear.
This isn’t just a longer fork bolted onto a trail bike. It’s a full EVO suspension conversion built around the lighter, beautifully finished Levo 4 Pro Carbon.
A Proper Levo EVO Conversion
Changing the linkage is what turns this from a modified Levo into a proper Levo EVO.
The EVO linkage changes the rear suspension configuration, increasing travel from 150mm to 170mm and giving the bike the capability needed for steeper, rougher terrain. It’s matched to the correct FOX DHX2 Factory coil shock, so the rear suspension works as a complete system rather than a collection of aftermarket parts.
You still get everything that makes the Levo 4 Pro such a good bike. It just has considerably more appetite for the way down.
180 / 170mm Travel: More Bike When It Matters
With 180mm of travel at the fork and 170mm at the rear, this custom Levo sits firmly in electric enduro territory.
There’s more room for mistakes, more control through rough sections and more confidence when the trail gets steep. The longer-travel setup helps the bike hold its line through repeated hits without taking away the balanced, natural feel that makes the Gen 4 Levo so easy to ride.
It isn’t travel added for the sake of a bigger number. It’s usable suspension that lets you carry more speed when the terrain gets serious.
FOX 38 Factory: Now With 180mm Travel
The original FOX 38 Factory fork remains, but travel has been increased to 180mm to match the new EVO rear end.
The 38 chassis gives you the stiffness and steering accuracy needed for a full-power e-bike, while the Factory-level damper provides the support and adjustment to get it properly dialled. It stays composed under heavy braking, keeps the front end supported through compressions and gives you something solid to lean on in rough corners.
You also keep the Kashima finish, because serious suspension can still look good.
FOX DHX2 Factory: Coil Control
At the rear, the original FLOAT X Genie air shock has been replaced by a FOX DHX2 Factory coil shock.
The DHX2 gives the rear wheel a calm, connected feel across broken ground. It reacts quickly to smaller impacts, tracks rough surfaces beautifully and remains consistent through long descents where an air shock can begin to feel less settled.
There’s still plenty of support when you push into a turn or land into a compression. This isn’t a soft coil setup that disappears into its travel. Properly set up, the DHX2 gives you grip without taking away the response needed to ride aggressively.
FOX SLS Spring: Less Weight, Same Coil Feel
The DHX2 is paired with a FOX SLS spring, bringing the consistency and sensitivity of a coil without carrying as much weight as a conventional steel spring.
Spring rate is important on any coil-sprung bike. The correct choice depends on rider weight, kit, riding style and how supportive you like the bike to feel.
Speak to the Brink team and we’ll help make sure the spring rate suits you rather than simply sending the bike out with whatever happened to be fitted.
Specialized 3.1 Motor: Big Power, Natural Delivery
The Specialized 3.1 motor delivers 105Nm of torque and up to 810 watts of power.
Those numbers make short work of steep climbs, but the delivery is what makes the motor so good on the trail. It feels smooth, controlled and predictable, helping you manage grip on technical sections rather than simply spinning the rear tyre.
It has the power to shuttle you back up for another lap, but it still allows the bike to feel natural underneath you.
840Wh Battery: Range For Proper Days Out
A big-travel e-bike is no use if you’re constantly worrying about getting home.
The 840Wh battery gives you the capacity for longer rides, repeated descents and days where the route becomes considerably bigger than originally planned. Support can be tuned around the ride, letting you stretch the range or turn everything up when climbing speed matters more than battery percentage.
The battery is also side-entry, making removal and refitting far less awkward than wrestling it out of the bottom of the frame.
FACT 11m Carbon Frame: Light, Strong And Adjustable
The custom build is based around the Levo 4 Pro’s FACT 11m carbon chassis.
It keeps the weight under control without turning the bike into something delicate, while the adjustable geometry lets you tailor its handling around your terrain. Head angle, bottom bracket height and chainstay length can all be changed, giving you a meaningful choice between agility and flat-out stability.
Run it low and slack for steep tracks, or bring it back slightly if your riding mixes tight technical trails with faster open sections.
There’s also integrated SWAT downtube storage, giving you somewhere to carry the ride essentials without covering the frame in straps.
SRAM AXS Transmission: Shift Under Power
The Levo Pro’s SRAM AXS T-Type drivetrain provides clean wireless shifting without a cable running the length of the frame.
The direct-mount Transmission design is made to cope with hard shifting under e-bike loads, making it well suited to technical climbs where easing off the pedals isn’t always an option. It feels precise, stays consistent and requires very little thought once you’re riding.
Which is exactly how a drivetrain should work.
SRAM Maven Brakes: Power To Match The Travel
More travel and more descending speed need proper brakes.
The SRAM Maven system delivers the power needed to control a full-power e-bike on long, steep tracks. Large rotors manage heat and provide plenty of stopping force, while the lever gives you the control to adjust speed without locking everything up at the first touch.
They’re not fitted simply because they’re the biggest brakes SRAM makes. They’re fitted because this bike can carry some serious pace.
Who Is The Custom EVO DHX2 Edition For?
This build is for riders who like the quality and lower weight of the Levo 4 Pro but want the descending capability of the EVO.
It makes sense for steep local tracks, enduro riding, bike park laps and anyone who values coil-sprung grip and consistency. It’s also ideal for riders who looked at the standard 150mm Levo and knew they’d immediately start changing the suspension.
The DHX2 and SLS spring require a little more setup than an air shock, but that effort is rewarded with a rear end that feels composed, connected and ready for repeated punishment.
The Takeaway
The stock Levo 4 Pro is one of the best all-round full-power e-bikes we’ve ridden.
This custom build gives up a little of that all-round focus and replaces it with considerably more descending intent.
A genuine EVO linkage conversion increases rear travel to 170mm. The FOX 38 Factory is extended to 180mm. A FOX DHX2 Factory and SLS spring provide the grip, support and consistency you expect from a properly sorted coil setup.
Same excellent carbon chassis. Same smooth 3.1 motor. Same huge 840Wh battery.
Just more travel, more control and a much bigger appetite for rough terrain.
Ride One For Yourself
We first rode the Levo Gen 4 in April 2025 and came away seriously impressed by the balance of power, weight, comfort and handling. Our full Levo Gen 4 ride review takes a closer look at what makes the platform work so well.

Specialized pioneered internal downtube storage, and now we bring it to you first on an e-MTB. Secured above the battery magnetically, the SWAT bag holds trailside essentials like a tube and CO2.
Swap in the smaller aftermarket 600Wh battery and boom, extra space for a jacket or other gear.
No bike frame has ever packed so much storage. Clean, clever, and ready to roll.
MasterMind TCU
The MasterMind on-board control unit delivers next-level rider experience and integration with the largest, highest resolution interface on a bike.
It puts every detail you need front and center: charge level, motor support mode, ride data, your personal performance metrics, all easily customizable. It even connects with other devices via bluetooth.
Charger
The Levo 4 S-Works comes with an excellent 5 amp, 200 watt charger. (Available aftermarket for non S-Works bikes)
If you want to charge faster than any bike on the planet, we offer an after market 12 amp, 700 watt Smart Charger. It charges the 840Wh battery from 0-80% in less than one hour. It also offers an Eco mode for energy efficient charging.
The charge-to-80% function increases battery life when storing your Levo 4, or when a full charge is not needed.
Motor
With 660 Watts and 101Nm deployed with SuperNatural power delivery, nothing beats the power, torque, and control combination of the S-Works 3.1 Motor.
Specialized have engineered this otherworldly power and torque to feel SuperNatural, like an intuitive extension of you, delivering torque with precision that unlocks your ability to negotiate low-speed technical terrain with control, scale previously impossible climbs, and dominate high speeds with adaptive amplification.
Because power is pointless without control.
